Camera Lenses

Camera lenses come in a variety of shapes and sizes and are specially designed to fit into specific cameras. For example, a Canon lens will only fit onto a Canon SLR body unless a special adaptor is used, but there are many different lenses offered by Canon from wide angle to extreme telephoto and everything in between.

Interchangeable camera lenses are almost exclusive to high end SLR cameras. One of the benefits of larger manufacturers of high end cameras is that they have kept the same lens mount throughout all their designs. In theory, a lens from 1970 should be able to fit onto a camera from 2010 with no modifications. For photographers who already have a number of different lenses this allows them to keep using them even though they are no longer shooting on film.

Camera lenses are expensive and intricate equipment that has to be taken special care of to keep its crisp images and smoothly flowing zoom functions. The lens should be taken extremely well care of and never be dirty and never be touched, a tough combination that keeps photos bright and crisp.
